Meet our dogs!

Sukey was the first English Shepherd we owned. We purchased her in June 2018 from Town and Country's English Shepherds As a puppy, she was an impossible ball of energy! If we failed to keep her busy, she thanked us by finding all sorts of unhelpful projects of her own! As she matured, she has become much more laid back and docile, but she still has lots of ambition left in her! She considers herself the Patrol Officer of our property, and does a great job keeping wild animals and rodents away.

Sukey loves animals and children. She often herds the chickens into their coop in the evening when we ask her to. She would make a great farm dog, but she also enjoys her laid back life in the country. She thrives on visitors and rarely barks. She weighs 45 pounds. Town & Country's Sukey is registered with UKC and ESC. CLEAR for CEA and all other testable genetic diseases. MDR1 normal/normal. Hips have been vet checked (not officially OFA'd) and pronounced "good".

We got Sirius from a family in Illinois, in July 2019. After raising the independent puppy that Sukey was, Sirius felt like a breeze! He has a laid back personality, and was rarely bored as a puppy. But pick up his ball, and he's instantly engaged! He loves toys of any kind and shape, and especially loves to play fetch. Sirius is much slower to welcome newcomers than Sukey is, but dearly loves the people he knows. He likes animals, especially cats, but doesn't show very much interest in working livestock. Sirius is a very happy, goofy dog... he keeps us all laughing! Like Sukey, he also makes a great rodent controller. He weighs 65 pounds. He willingly serves as our shadow when we're outside, never straying far. Dog Star's Shadow Sirius is registered with UKC and ESC. MDR1 normal/normal. Hips are OFA-Excellent.

Maya came from Town and Country English Shepherds and is a half sister to Sukey. She was born in February 2022. She has a wonderful temperament! She is very submissive even to young children. She never meets anyone she doesn't like, but she has a definite preference to her "family". There is nothing she loves more than to be with her people, trailing along while we work or laying calmly at our feet.

She is a follower and is generally submissive with people and our two older dogs, but she holds her own well too. She has low prey drive but is great with rodent control.

She is gentle with our young children and cats. She copies the older dogs a lot and has learned many skills from them. Maya is eager to learn and has been easy to train.

Town & Country's Summer Luvin' Maya weighs 45 pounds and is registered with UKC and ESC. CLEAR for CEA and all other testable genetic diseases, except for carrying one copy of ALT. Maya is MDR1 normal/normal.
